Firefox just forced me to restart because of an update. My windows would be restored...no they won't. Half of them were in a private window, the others were logged in sessions that would be invalidated by a restart. Being forced to restart is a major problem and I am now in the process of moving to another browser (Chromium) because you force me to lose work.

Hello, You can choose how to update Firefox Select the Menu then choose “Options“. Select “General” on the left pane. Scroll down to the “Firefox Updates” section. Select one of the following options as desired:

   Automatically install updates
Check for updates, but let me choose whether to install them
   Never check for updates

Choose the second option and all will be fine! Hope this help
