New version just downloaded and now I can't access anything on the internet. Either I'm totally blocked or I have to give permission. How do I disable new security "disaster"? The blocking messages are all warnings that sites aren't okay - even GOOGLE is "bad". What the????

hi, unfortunately this is likely due to your avast/avg security software tampering with encrypted connections. please either try to reinstall your security software or else follow the more specific steps for it at How to troubleshoot security error codes on secure websites.

How come ALL of the other browsers still work? Chrome? WORKS! IE? WORKS! The problem is clearly Firefox. And this is the second "upgrade" new version that has caused me to lose work time trying to fix it. I give up and I'm moving to Chrome...

you're free to use whichever browser you want of course! (avast is in partnership with google, so they might gain from undermining the competition)

other users affected by the same avast-induced problem have reported that the same advice i was giving you, was successful in solving the issue: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/firefox?tagged=avast65&show=done
