You enter a new password when Thunderbird prompts you for one. You may need to delete any old passwords Thunderbird has already remembered.
How do I delete old passwords?
At the top right of the Thunderbird window, click the menu button 
> Options > Privacy & Security > Passwords > Saved Passwords > Show Passwords.
