What is their file format? And the filename's extension? Is this with all websites/pages, some, a few?

Thank you. It was really all types of doewnloads. I now realize it is Firefox stopping the downloads. I now have google chrome also and can open various things I cannot do with Firefox. I had Firefox for safety and maybe it is too safe? Maybe I have to change settings in Firefox but this seems to be working.
