Google is my default search engine in the address bar on firefox. When I search in the address bar, it just resets to the page that I am currently on and doesn't load the search. It does the same if I try typing 'google.com' or 'google.ca' but gmail.com seems to work fine. If I type in a full website address for other sites (reddit, wikipedia, duckduckgo, etc) it works fine. I deleted firefox all together and downloaded it fresh and reset to default settings. Right now I only have one extension and it's ublock origins. I've disabled ublock origins to see if that would help, and I'm still having problems. The problem is inconsistent where sometimes if I type google.com it will take me there and other times even that won't work. Sometimes if I try changing the default search engine in settings and then switching it back to google, it will fix it for a few searches, but then I go back to having issues. It just sort of keeps circling back to the same problem even if I can get it to work briefly. Re-opening firefox in safe mode clears the problem while it's in safe mode, but even with all extensions disabled, the problem keeps coming back when I'm not in safe mode. Any ideas or fixes?
