Geolocalization not working
I'm having problems with geoloalization in version 3.6.6. When I use this feature no result is obtained and I get this error:
[Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIXMLHttpRequest.send]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: file:///C:/Archivos%20de%20programa/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/NetworkGeolocationProvider.js :: anonymous :: line 322" data: no] [Break on this error] xhr.send(jsonString); Networ...ider.js (línea 322)
I also tried in 3.5.10 version and it worked but I get this error in the console too: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIXMLHttpRequest.send]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: file:///C:/Archivos%20de%20programa/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/NetworkGeolocationProvider.js :: anonymous :: line 245" data: no]

Hello Paquito.
It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in safe mode (don't forget to select Disable all add-ons when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See this article for information about troubleshooting extensions and theme and this one for plugins.
If you need support for one of your add-ons, you'll have to contact its author.
I've followed the steps to disable all my add-ons and themes and I still get this error.
Please notice that add-ons are the collective whole of extensions, themes and plugins. You can access the list of each of these types of add-ons, respectively, by going into Tools > Addons > Extensions, Tools > Addons > Themes and Tools > Addons > Plugins.
If you simply did it with safe mode, and ticked the box Disable all add-ons, then it did disable extensions, themes and plugins. If the problem persists with extensions, themes and plugins disabled, can you please try creating a new, temporary Firefox profile (managing profiles) to check if the new profile has the same issue? This is solely for diagnostic purposes at the moment.
Hello again. I previously followed the steps provided using safe mode and disabling everything.
Then I've created a new clean profile and tested geolocalization and I got the same error.
Hum... Please try reinstalling Firefox. Download the latest version (for free, as always) from www.getfirefox.com and uninstall your current version (no data will be lost). Then install Firefox again from the installer you just downloaded.
I believe it's possible that, for some reason, a file (potentially C:/Archivos de programa/Mozilla Firefox/components/NetworkGeolocationProvider.js) got damaged, and reinstalling Firefox will revert it to its appropriate state. Hopefully that is the case, and reinstalling will fix it. Please tell me if it doesn't work.
Hi, I have the same problem, and I have the problem on different browser. So I think it is no proper to Firefox.
I encounter this problem on my work, and I think it could be cause of a proxy.
Do you think it's possible ?
Geolocation can only work properly if you use a wireless connection to an access point.
What kind of connection do you have?
