When I type an address into the address bar, it just opens a new blank page. If I type in google.com, google, or www.google.com it still does it. I have to type it into the search bar and then choose it from the list that comes up. The only addresses that work are ones that are remembered in my history.

This can be caused by an add-on. To test this try the procedure in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article.
