I have loaded the lastest 3.6.10 FireFox. I am not able to save any passwords now. I have checked the settings and it is indeed set to remember paswords. Am I missing something?

I was wondering if there is an additional setting that I may be missing when it comes to saving passwords. I have gone to Tools/Options/Security/Passwords... The remember passwords for sites has been checked. But yet no sites are being remembered and there is no pop-up prompt asking me to Remember the site.

  • Make sure that you not run Firefox in Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history mode
  • In Private Browsing mode some menu items are disabled (grayed) and features like visited links are disabled and not showing
  • You are in Private Browsing mode if you see "Tools > Stop Private Browsing", possibly grayed

Your suggestion was very helpful. I found that I was in Private Browsing mode. I made the needed changes and I am now able to save passwords as needed. Thank you.
