For reasons unknown, when i go out to uTube and try to play a video, the video plays but not the sound. When i bring up IE and grab the same video, it is able to play the sound. The identical problem occurs when i download a news report that should play using Widows Media Player.

BTW, I check ed tools> options>applications and it seems like sound is configured to be played by QuickTime Plugin 7.6.9. Is it possible that that is corrupted?

Hi cor-el,

Thanks for the links to no sound in Firefox and Video or audio does not play.

On the first link, the t-shooting said to download latest version of Flash - which I did. While I was at it I downloaded the latest version of QuickTime.

Neither of those actions turned on the sound for the link = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfJnqbudMzs.

I also went to Tools>Options>Applications and verified that most of the Firefox audio wanted the Flash 7.6.9 - which i had just refreshed on my system.

Still no luck. uTube used to work on Firefox but i suppose that i could abandon it for IE for that one application.

Any other ideas?

cor-el, How can i read the posts of the 5 people who also have this problem. I am having trouble navigating the support site.

Maybe someone among those five people found a way to resolve this.
