Which file do I choose to "open With" the latest Firefox version, using an Asus Eee PC 900 series/Linux (without a disk drive to save to)?

I am trying to upgrade to the latest Firefox version using an Asus Eee PC 900 with the Linux operating system. When I choose to download the upgrade, it asks which file I either want to "open with" or "save to". This computer has little memory and no removable disk drive. However, I can use a flash drive to save the file to but which program/file should I select to open this file with?

It's a little more complicated that that. The version of Xandros Linux (from early 2007) that Asus was using on the eeePC doesn't have the GTK package needed to run Firefox 3+ versions, you need to update it.

Overall, you should consider updating to a newer version of Linux. Ubuntu has a Netbook Remix, and there is an offshoot of Ubuntu called Easy Peasy that is made specifically for Netbooks like the EeePC 900.

I installed Easy Peasy 1.5 on my EeePC 900 after having very slow speeds with Firefox 3.0 after doing the GTK package upgrade on Xandros Linux. Easy Peasy runs a hell of a lot better than Xandros ever did on my EeePC.
