When the sidebar is opened and there is an (active) selection, the focus stays there, even if you right-click on a toolbar bookmark. The context menu appears near the toolbar bookmark, but belongs to the actively selected sidebar item!

This leads to undesired behavior, e.g.: if you right-click a toolbar bookmark in order to delete it, you instead delete the item in the bookmark sidebar ranging from a single bookmark, to possibly a folder with tens or hundreds of sub-folder and items. This has happened to me several times (even after I was aware of this behavior)! :-( When I manage my bookmarks, I manage them in the sidebar /and/ the toolbar.

To avoid the undesired behavior, first close the sidebar; or click somewhere in the main browser window, to make the sidebar selection inactive.

If the undesired behavior has occurred, you can restore bookmarks from the Bookmark Library. You might want to backup (what is left of) your current bookmarks before restoring - you otherwise lose all changes since the last restore point. I do not see a practical way of "joining" the restore point and the (rest of the) current/backupped bookmarks - anybody?

It might be possible to simply "undo" the sidebar item deletion, but since I did something else in between, I do not know whether this was an option.

Don't select anything right now, just use "Continue in SafeMode."
