Until I installed the final version of Firefox 4.0, Google image search worked fine. Now, I get one page of thumbnails and the following pages are just grey boxes. It works fine in Internet Explorer 9.0, so it's not a Google problem, nor something specific to my hardware (which, in any case, worked fine with all previous versions of Firefox).

This problem is with google and firefox. If you do a web search and then press the 'images' button after it will only load page 1 of the images. If you do the search in images (not web search) it will load all the images. I have two computers on a network. the first running vista doesn't have a problem. The second running xp does have the problem. It doesn't happen in IE on the problem computer so it is an issue, I think, with fox.

This doesn't happen with IE 8 or 9 on either of my computers, but Firefox 4.0 has this problem on my home PC (running Win7 64-bit), but not on my work PC (running WinXP SP3). Weird.

Having the same issue in 4.0, although even if I do a search in "images" I only get one page of thumbnails. Is this going to be fixed? I prefer to have the full spectrum of images from which to choose.

Google images used to work, and then images stopped displaying. After searching a bit for a solution, I discovered the problem was with an "HTTPS everywhere" add-on and this is how I resolved it:

On the Firefox toolbar, click tools>add-ons>"HTTPS everywhere">options and make sure "Google search" and "Google services" are unchecked. After un-checking these boxes, Google images began working again.

I don't have the "HTTPS everywhere" add-on, so that's not it.

I had this problem for the longest time. Luckily I found the answer at another blog.

Go to Tools/Options/"General" Tab/Manage Add-ons/"Extensions" Tab

Now go through and begin disabling the add-ons. You may want to do them all at once or kinda guess which one it is. On the blog I found it was the Ad Block add on but, for me it was my AVG add on. I suspect it'll be different for different people. Good luck.

This worked for me as well--although the add-on causing the trouble was 'XUL Runner'. I disabled it and the thumbnails worked properly again.

XUL runner turned out to be the culprit for me too. Thanks.

Viva_Ron_Paul's comment worked for me, disabled optimizegoogle and the image search worked straight away.

Once I figured it out, it was so simple - - theres a few steps - 1 make sure the worms are of a decent size 2 when you put them on the hook - just pierce the skin every 1/2 inch - - when the screen comes up grey, refresh the page, or punch yourself in the face - It's quite simple, before you ask a stupid question about face punching - - - just refresh the page - if that don't work, clear your cache and cookies - scale the fish with a spoon - works great - ' " hmmm. lets see. - "Computers are a lot like fish, - when you finally figure out how to skin, gut and cook a fish - - the Government makes up new rules
