I keep getting told (1) that I need to upgrade FF, and then (2) that I lack "sufficient privileges". What's up?.
Mac OS X 10.5.8
Every time I open FF I get the msg that I could be subject to online attacks unless I download the new version. (I've received this msg with respect to each of the last three versions.)
I go through the motions, and when I try to move the new FF into the Applications folder I get the message "The operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient privileges for some of the items."
What on earth does that mean?

If you get an error message that you do not have sufficient permissions or have other problems with updating then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop
- Firefox 3.6.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
- Firefox 4.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
- Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
- Install the new version that you have downloaded
