Why is firefox consuming an inordinate amount of memory, to the point that AVG asks me to shut down firefox and restart it?
Firefox consumes a LOT of memory. AVG warns of inordinate memory use by firefox and suggests closing and restarting firefox. Please advise. Using Windows XP

uninstall AVG, it's useless antivirus software anyway. Download avast! Free Antivirus 6
How much RAM does your PC have? And what amount is AVG warning you about? Is it anywhere near half or 3/4 of your RAM?
