my home page has recently been telling me that I dont have the latest version. So I have followed the link and downloaded it .......several times..........in fact more times than I can remember.

I have also uninstalled firefox several times to carry out a fresh install and still Im being told I dont have the latest version (8.0.1)

You may see that message below the Google search box on www.google.com/firefox which is the old Firefox default home page. It appears that page is no longer being maintained. You appear to have the latest Firefox 8.0.1 installed

If you want the Google search page as your home page, a new, updated version is now built-in to Firefox. Reset your home page to about:home for that new display.
