changed from internet explorer to firefox, laptop will no longer do wireless internet, old and new router. How can I enable wireless?

Was using internet explorer on a used laptop. Switched to Firefox and the laptop would no longer do wireless using an existing Belkin router. bought a netgear router to fix problem, hooked it up to the laptop. After installation it appeared to be connected but still was not.

Sounds like the problem is you wireless network when you hooked up the router did you set up a new network?
