Every night at 7pm CST/midnight GMT, Firefox closes with no error message, or warning message. All add-ons have been disabled. Running Win7 with Firefox.

I have already disabled all ad-ons, one at a time (11 total) to see if any of them caused the error. None did. I have already checked all programs, including antivirus to see there was a timed action that was triggering the shut down. When it does shut down, I receive no error messages or warnings about muliti-tab shutdown. Every time, Firefox simply closes. When I re-open Firefox, I do not receive the option (which I have set) to restore my tabs. No other programs are affected. I am happy to provide any more information, just let me know what you need. The Troubleshooter data below is from 1.5 hours after the most recent Firefox shutdown.

If you check the History menu, is Restore Previous Session available (vs. grayed out)? If it's available, does it work?

I don't suppose these shutdowns are listed on the about:crashes page (type or paste about:crashes in the address bar and press Enter)?

I can't help thinking some external process is at work here. But what??

Do you have any "timed" maintenance items scheduled in Windows at that time?
What time does your anti-virus application check for updates?

Some AV applications do daily updates and other check multiple times each day while the computer is running. My desktop runs 24/7 and on some days the Avira Free AV downloads updates 3 times instead of the usual 2 times.

You should be able to restore the "closed" session thru History > Restore Previous Session even if you don't have the pref set to "restore" all the time (as Jefferson mentioned).

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

Firefox may be checking for updates, so make sure that you allow the updater in your security software.

You can set the Integer pref browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes to 0 on the about:config page to get the about:sessionrestore page immediately with the first start after a crash has occurred or the Task Manager was used to close Firefox.

I have exactly the same problem as you do, and it also happens in other browsers as well (I use Internet Explorer and Google Chrome too).

Most of the times, the restore previous session option is grayed out, but other times it automatically asks me if I want to restore the previous session. When I click 'Yes', it restores all the tabs of the previous session alongside a new one, open in the following site: http://krzemik.pl/ The site is Polish, but I don't even live in Poland.

The site says it's safe, but I'm suspicious it distributes some kind of adware that causes this problem. I've already reported it, though.

I also have another problem that, whenever I search for something that contains the word 'virus' on a search engine, the browser is automatically shut within 1 or 2 seconds without any kind of warning or error message, I also can't open one of my antispyware programs (AdAware, to be exact), as it is immediately closed as if I had clicked the 'X', per say, even in Safe Mode. I'm also prevented from using my backup restore function in the control panel, or even using commands to activate it. I've fully scanned my computer in Safe Mode using another antispyware (SuperAntispyware) twice, and nothing as solved the problem. I'm not sure if these problems are interconnected, though.

Hi Doom149, that sounds extremely suspicious.

This is not the best forum for resolving deep systemic malware issues. There are some others you could try. Hopefully they're not blocked.

Attn; Doom149. It happened to me once. I got a virus, and it shut down my anti-virus. I had an idea. I went to windows msconfig.exe, went to the start-up menu, and deselected everything I could not identify. The virus was stopped. I found the infecting program and sent it to the anti-virus people and an update came out a few days later
