Suddenly started having a wide margin on both sides of websites such as Facebook and Pinterest so everything is smaller in the middle. How do I change this?

I do not know if I accidentally changed something by mistake, but now most webpages I go to have about a 2 inch margin on both sides which makes everything that should show up in a small space just in the middle of the screen. I would like to make the contents of the pages fill the entire page rather than just the middle. How do I change this?
