Hi there, my computer recently the the Delta-search virus. I deleted all the Delta programs on my computer and reset my internet options so everything is working fine now. I also have Webroot SecureAnywhere installed on my computer and a recent scan said that I had no threats. However, when I go to the about:config page, there are still several extensions.delta entries. I have tried right-clicking and hitting reset, then restarting Firefox and it hasn't worked. I've also tried to delete them in the prefs.js file and it hasn't worked either. How can I get rid of these entries? Thanks!

Those prefs are to control the scroll behavior with the mouse and have nothing to do with delta-search or other malware, so leave them alone.

You should be cautious whit changing prefs and make sure that you understand what their purpose is.
When in doubt then leave them alone and ask advice.

Please check if all your plugins are up-to-date. To do this, go to the Mozilla Plugin Check site.

Once you're there, the site will check if all your plugins have the latest versions. If you see plugins in the list that have a yellow Update button or a red Update now button, please update these immediately.

To do so, please click each red or yellow button. Then you should see a site that allows you to download the latest version. Double-click the downloaded file to start the installation and follow the steps mentioned in the installation procedure.

You can check whether you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize some prefs on each start of Firefox.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

The "Application Data" folder in XP/Win2K and the "AppData" folder in Windows Vista and Windows 7 and later versions are hidden folders.

The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created it, so normally it wouldn't be there. you can check its content with a plain text editor if you didn't create this file yourself.

The user.js file is read each time you start Firefox and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.

You can check for delta-search pref on the about:config page and reset prefs that are related to delta-search via the right-click context menu to their default value..

Hi cor-el, thank you. I deleted the user.js file from the profile folder and now those entries are gone. However, there are still some mousewheel.default.delta entries in the about:config page that I would like to get rid of. Any suggestions? Thanks!
