Have two copies of flash player in add-ons file --- latest and old one --- how to get rid of old one....
In reviewing and updating add-on using add-on manager the manager screen shows two copies of adobe flash player --- 11.9 latest version and and old version 9.0....... How do i get rid of the 9.0 entry. The plug in for 9.0 doesn't show up in my control panel for installed programs.
Thanks.
Also of what value is the java deployment tool kit.

(1) You should be able to uncover the location of the other plugin from the about:plugins page (type or page about:plugins into the address bar and press Enter).
(2) If it doesn't show there for some reason, on 32-bit Windows, Firefox generally finds the Flash Player plugin using registry entries that point into the Windows folder:
C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
The plugin files have the name following the pattern npswf...dll and the most recent should have a name similar to NPSWF32_11_9_900_152.dll. Can you find the old one there and delete it?
(3) If the obsolete DLL file is not located there, either, it may have been dropped into the Firefox program folder. On 32-bit Windows, you could check for it here:
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\Plugins C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\browser\plugins
(4) Still not found? In that case, you might need to look into the Windows registry for the information.
The Java Deployment Toolkit is used by scripts on some sites to load Java applets. However, I've hardly found any sites that require it, maybe only 1.
You could also delete the pluginreg.dat file (or pluginreg) file in the profile folder...
For locating the profile: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
MAKE SURE you delete the file with Firefox closed.
Thank you --- Figured as much will make it go bye bye.
