I cannot get any audio via hdmi to my tv when playing back anything via firefox, eg bbc iplayer or any music based website. I can get the audio via explorer so must be a firefox only related issue. Using new windows 8, horrible ! I tried this link provided by firefox help and it gave the audio, but its the only thing using firefox which has. Any help gratefully received

That test page uses the built-in HTML5 video player with the video tag.

The sites that aren't working may be using a plugin like Flash and the plugin-container.

Did you check the volume setting in this player via its control bar to make sure that the sound isn't muted?

You can also check the volume setting in the Windows Volume mixer via the icon in the notification area on the Windows task bar.

The problem is not solved by something that simple unfortunately ! I have discovered that if I boot up the laptop with the hdmi cable connected to the tv it works, but if not, same issue. Have read everything everywhere I can to see if the issue happens for anyone else, seems mine is an odd one. May reinstall FF to see if that cures.
