When I press ctrl+return (main enter key) on my keyboard (Standard 52 key US layout) on macOS Sequoia 15.0.1, the context menu pops up (with back, reload, select all, etc.) which interferes with the shortcuts of some of the sites I use. It does not occur when in other apps. Is there a way to disable this shortcut key? I have a context menu key on my keyboard, so it is unnecessary.

I had Tbird running very well on my new MacBook a two months, I have it set to work perfectly with my outlook.com email account for emails, contacts and calendar. I have Tbsync and Provider for exchange add ons. In fact the whole set up was much easier on the Mac than on my old Win10 laptop. I also have BT, Gmail and iCloud email folders set up as well. As state the whole system was working perfectly, calendar events etc all synced and updated my Outlook.com account and also my iPhone. I was extremely pleased with how it was working.

Problem. I switch off my Mac last night as usual. Started up this morning and opened Tbird. Latest emails were duly received from all accounts including my Outlook.com.

However when I went to add a new event I noticed there were no calendars, none! Yesterday there were F1, holidays, personal. I then noticed that my address book was also gone, no contacts, nothing. Just a blank calendar and the empty Tbird default address book. No menu options for getting Outlook contacts or calendar re-set up exist. I feel rather annoyed, is putting it mildly!

Fortunately the data is still there in my Outlook.com account. So not 100% angry.

Despite the fact that I am downloading emails from Outlook.com, plus sending replies and new ones, something has gone missing. I must therefore assume that TBsync 4.11 or Provider for Exchange ActiveSync 4.12 has decided to go on vacation.

Tbird is version 128.3.3esr (64-bit) No updates have been requested or installed for months. It just simply was working well and then decided not too!

Any ideas for a fix? Or do I remove everything and start a fresh setup

Thunderbird 60.3.0 (64bit). Windows 7. I know it's an old version, but it has to stay that way. The program does not open PDF attachments. When I click on the attachment, nothing happens. It can only be saved to disk. I cannot change the program used to open PDF attachments in the options. I am attaching a photo.

To move the email storage space to D drive, I followed all available instructions I found online, but it always failed when I tried to redirect the route of Thunderbird mail folder to a new place in D drive.

Pinned tabs will show a green dot underneath logo when firefox thinks it's changed. it never does, never has. gmail, closedAI, claude, notion, doesn't matter. it thinks the website changed. annyoing and distracting.

how to stop this?

Is there some setting in about:config that can deal with this?

How to turn off the translate fiture? imo this feature is usefull if it can be setting which page that user want to translate or at least turn on-off this feature, but if all the foreign page is translate, it is f*cking annoying and fell like garbage browser! i change my main browser from chrome or opera to firefox but since this annoying feature add and can't turn off, i prefer back to them again

Hi, Having set up the HTTPS mode I found that initially my bank account gave the "Secure Connection Failed" error. I then went through the “Adding exceptions for HTTP websites" procedure which then allowed me to access the bank account. Since I had a second account, I also added this to the exceptions. To my surprise this did not work, and the first bank account did not either. I also disabled the “Don’t enable HTTPS-Only Mode" option available during the initial setup. This made no difference to the problem. I would appreciate any help in resolving this Problem. Ian Duncan.

One of the websites I visit is an HTTPS site but Firefox continues to warn me each time that it is not an HTTPS site. I can get to the log-in site which is an HTTPS site but after entering my log-in credentials and hit the log-in button, that is when FF sends the warning. Every time I try to access the site I have to tell FF to go to the HTTP site at which time it takes me to the desired site which is, in fact, also an HTTPS site. I have tried disabling HO for that site but it still behaves the same way. This problem does not surface when using Chrome. Any thoughts?

Where you can switch between accounts, an "Avatar" (circle) is generated automatically with the 2 first characters from the email-domain.

Can be ok, but I have several accounts on the same server, resulting in identical "Avatars".

Is there a way to change what's shown ? If not, could this be implemented?

Everything worked fine until I upgraded to 128.3.1 Now I cannot open any attachments. The most urgent to fix is pdf attachments. I am running Thunderbird in Ubuntu and the default app in my Ubuntu is Okular. Under Thunderbird Settings, Files and Attachments, the pdf setting is currently System Handler but that does not lead to any action when I click on an attachment. Under Thunderbird Settings, there are no apps listed in the Other list. Selecting that option just takes me to Ubuntu Documents - where there are no apps. Okular is definitely the default app in my Ubuntu setup for opening pdf files. How do I get Thunderbird to use this? Thanks for your help Ian

Hi All the folders in my accounts have stopped responding to commands such as delete/rename/subfolder/properties. Everything else works fine - sending/receiving emails. Tried folder repair but no joy. Cheers Neil

I am running FF 131.0.3 (64-bit) on a Dell Laptop with W11 and have installed IM Translator 16.93.

After the IM Translator installation there is no Button for it on the toolbar. I have confirmed that the show Toolbar button is checked in the Advanced options.

Is this just a bad update or is there something else to do to get the button to appear?

It used to be, (years ago) that the message filters worked, apparently, thus: in descending order- filter applied, message removed message from inbox next filter until the inbox was was empty, OR if not empty yet (because no previous filter matched), a final filter of "match anything" would be applied to the remaining messages in the inbox, and those messages would be moved to the designated folder.

Now, it seems that while the filters are being applied, the message is not moved immediately, but rather is copied to where it is intended, but left in the inbox, marked read, apparently. So, when the final "match anything" filter is encountered, ALL of those previously processed, marked read messages are actually moved (copy/delete, I suppose) to the final designated folder.

So, if this is not a bug, how can I achieve the original behavior?

Some additional, should be irrelevant info: I have one main account which mostly gets things addressed to my @spamcop.net address. Things I'm interested in go to one of maybe 50 folders under that account. Anything else ( that is, left over from the previous filtering ) is supposed to go to the inbox folder of my Spamcop account for possible spam reporting, Marked "unread". As it is, every incoming message goes into that account, marked read. Useless.

A final note is that messages ~moved~ to the main inbox are ignored in normal use, but if I select filters and manually apply them, they work as expected.

P.S. I'm not interested in using IMAP, I have everything else working as I like with POP3.

I prefer the toolbar new tab '+' icon to be located to the right of the currently open tabs. However each time I customise the toolbar to re-locate the '+' sign to the right it will revert to the extreme left when FF restarts. How can I make my customisation persist?
