Kubuntu 14.4 Firefox 29 Flash 11.2.202.359

When I play any flash video, it plays as if I was fast forwarding at 4x the speed with no sound. I have hardware acceleration set to off. Flash installed by flashplugin-installer ver. 11.2.202.359ubuntu0.14.04.1

update the flashplayer an see if it gets fixed? i had some other problem wich videos would be played carttonized , i just downgraded the flashplayer then upgraded it via firefox it self and it got fixed , see if this helps

Get a slower computer ! Just joking.

It may be worth checking with http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ That should confirm or otherwise that you have a working FlashPlayer and that it is the latest version. (Linux is not fully supported by FlashPlayer so you expect to have older versions 11.2.202.359 will be up-to-date)

Is the problem limited to only one site ? What happens if you try the BBC news site that has small video clips do they play ok e.g. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-27758940

Try with Hardware acceleration turned off (or turned on) in Firefox

For some reason Firefox won't recognize the plugin. So I have to download it from Adobe or from the Kubuntu repositories.

I have the lates version and I've uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times.

It does not work ever. Even for short videos. Or with hardware acceleration on or off.

You seem to have Flash Player installed, but what happens when you visit

Does that confirm it is installed ? The site actually tests by using the browser's installed FlashPlayer.

When you say It does not work ever you are referring to the fact that Flash Player video plays too fast.

Perhaps you should try Adobe's own support site.

Sorry for my vageness. Yes, it does show that it's installed and I see the flash animation. Flash is there. It just does not play the videos correctly...

"You have version 11,2,202,378 installed"

By it does not work ever, I mean that the videos never play at normal speed.

Well. I uninstalled all semblances of the Adobe flash plugin and installed Gnash plugin.

Open source wins again!

All is well now.

Except this link does not work... http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

Never had videos run fast with Flash 11.2 on Linux. Whether it be Youtube or Twitch.tv or other Flash options.

I wonder if it's related to the version of Firefox or what distribution you are running. I never had an issue either till I updated to Kubuntu 14.04 and then installed FireFox 29...

Note also Firefox is working on the Shumway project to have native Flash Player capability. That works and is available now but only at the experimental level, it is not yet suitable for mainstream day to day use, but you can turn it on.

I wonder are all graphics and animations too fast. What about theis rotating globe it is .gif & should be 15rpm

Thanks for all your help John99! I really appreciate it. The gif works fine. And I will try Shumway to see if it works better than Gnash.

Well, videos on the old FaceBook don't seem to load on either Adobe flash-plugin, Gnash, or Shumway...

Looks like it will take some more digging into.
