'an attempt was made to use an object that is not or is no longer usable''. What does this mean? Occurs in creating a 'new' FF account for purposes of sync.
Failed attempts to set up sync. Multiple attempts about one year ago also failed many times due to 'apparent' password 'problems'. I gave up. Now, my attempt to set up sync with my mozilla support account (email address and password) was rejected with the words quoted above. The attempt to create a new account for sync only and with another email address was also rejected with the words quoted above. Both email addresses are valid and of long standing with different email providers. The sync shall be between to laptops. What is the solution to this conundrum? Thanks in advance for you time and help!!!!

Actually, look so like an add on may be affected . Can you please disable all of your add-ons temporarily and try sync again?

Hi, Thank you for your question. The two computers will need to be on version 29 or above in order to use the new sync. We are looking how to reproduce this []https://github.com/mozilla/fxa-content-server/issues/1094 And here https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1006774
Can you let us know the steps how this happened?

Thanks to all who replied. The problem was the add-ons, somehow. So, restarting with add-ons disabled remedied the problem. Sync was successfully completed---and the 'new' is vastly easier to use than the former.
Further to the event reported above: After successfully executing sync, and after re-starting with add-ons enabled, an attempt to 'manage' the sync account was rejected with the notice originally cited. So this must mean that a FF extension is interfering. Further, the AIOS extension was operative when the add-ons were re-enabled---but only briefly. Can you suggest as which of these might be the most likely source of interference? I operate with about fifty extensions. These tend to be of the security and privacy type. Note that this is on FF beta channel and FF 31.0.
