Is there a way around add-on compatablity issuses, the latest update wants to disabled Symantec Vulnerability 12.3.0.3-1.
I am afraid to update Fire Fox's latest update because it wants to disable a security add-on that I know nothing about or how it will affect my Symantec security software provided by my employer.

Hello,
Take a look at:
Upgrading Firefox will more likely provide better security than not upgrading and keeping that add-in. All you need to do is keep your anti-virus up to date as well.
Your computer has multiple layers of protection. There is Symantec software running at the operating system level to intercept and quarantine bad downloads. The Symantec browser add-on is designed to block certain attacks on the browser from web pages you visit, so it's an extra layer of protection. And that's a good thing. But... there is a timing problem here: Firefox 32.0.3 fixes a problem in the security system of Firefox. Since the Symantec add-on is older than the Firefox update, it might not protect you from this problem. So I think you probably would be better off updating Firefox and waiting for Symantec to update its add-on (hopefully soon). However, you might want to confirm this with your IT department so your decision is consistent with company policy.
A Firefox install or update does not have any affect on your separate antivirus application. The message simply states the version of the Extension provided by the Symantec app is not compatible with Firefox 32.0.
Anyways the link CoryMH posted shows it is not longer needed or supported anyways. Also http://community.norton.com/forums/check-your-norton-vulnerability-protection-firefox
