I'm trying to open a .chm file in Firefox. I've read that this is possible -- ultimately, I want to save the content out as something more accessible. But whether I right-click the .chm file in Windows Explorer, and use "Open with ... Firefox", or use the File/open menu command from within Firefox itself, it merely brings up a dialog box in Firefox asking me where to save the file, with the same filename and filetype extension. I save the file, and the pattern repeats. It never opens. I can open the file in the Microsoft Help File utility, so I know it's a valid file, but that utility doesn't let me save or export it in any other format. I've gone into Options/Applications in Firefox to set how this filetype is handled, but can't find any reference to Compiled Windows Help Files on the list in any form, and I don't know how to add it as an option. How can I resolve this, please? For reference, I'm running Firefox 35.0.1 on Windows 7 x64. Thanks for any help.
