Have Yosemite 10.10.3. When I download Firefox from Safari, it appears to download but does not show up anywhere.
I had Firefox on my desktop and deleted it from my system - cleaned the system. I then tried to download Firefox again and it appears to start the download which happens super fast. Then the screen comes up saying thank you for downloading - but the firefox.dmg is nowhere to be found anywhere on my system. At no point does the little symbol show itself - indicating the time of the download.

It looks like you have some download software called "iGetter" that is taking over the download, and safari is blocking the software, making the download not work. I have no idea if you want this software or not, but you should try uninstalling it, as that will probably work. Uninstall instructions are at http://www.igetter.net/downloads.html

Hello Peterinca, try one more time from the next link : https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
thank you
Unfortunately, the same thing happens.
Latest Firefox release is 37.0.2.
Cor-el: When I clicked onto the English US link in the folder, the download begins; however, a notice comes up saying "Plug-in blocked for this website". When I click on that, another box drops - if I click "Cancel" - nothing happens, if I click "Trust" - the screen immediately returns to the beginning download folder.
It seems I may have gotten furthest with this link..?

Almost immediately before user293's problem solving answer came in, I thought to go the the igetter.net site to see if it could shed light on the problem. When I deleted Firefox, I did not uninstall it - instead, I put it into the trash. There were still bits of the old igetter.net program hidden in my system - once the three stragglers were pulled into the trash, trash emptied and the system restarted, I went to Safari and using Cor-el's link, I was able to IMMEDIATELY download Firefox! Thank GOD - Safari is not cutting it for me.
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HELPED!! Peter
