Hi, folks. My middle-click is set to open links in a new tab, and it usually works fine. However, there are some links which ignore my settings (one of them is https://teach.mozilla.org/activities/) - when I middle-click a https link on a site, Firefox just opens it in the same tab. Is there a way to prevent such sites from going against my settings? If possible, I'd like to do that without installing any add-ons and any such things.

It would seem that this only happens for https links. Is this a default / built-in setting for Firefox?

It works fine on my system.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

Thank you for the quick reply.

I have followed your suggestion, and started Firefox in safe mode. Unfortunately, this did not solve this issue. You see, when I visit this link:

https://teach.mozilla.org/activities/

and middle-click any of the links provided in the right side of that site's display (for example, Web Literacy Basics (Teaching Kit), or the one below, Protect Your Data), they still open in the same tab.

If it's of any use, I'm using the latest version of Firefox (42.0), and my OS is Windows XP (SP3).

I have not encountered this issue before. TBH, it's not that big of a deal, I was just wondering why this was happening. I haven't tried looking into the source code of the page (since I'm not that good - yet - with HTML and JavaScript), so I'm not quite sure if its coding has something to do with it.

Ahh, I see what you mean. I hav the same with the middle click. Right click the link and select Open In New Window / Tab.
