Can't upload media to Wordpress site after Firefox went 64 bit recently. Have tried F'fox solution re Windows Media add-on - but still not uploading. Google OK

After update to Firefox 43 (64 bit version) my media uploads to my Wordpress site timed out after about 2 minutes and 'HTTP' error displayed. Worked fine in google and i explorer browsers however - and still does

Have tried Firefox suggested solution of activating the Windows Media add-on (changing 'false' to 'true' at the back end etc.) - tried a media upload to W'press and it worked! However, this was obviously a 'one-off' for some reason and, since then, have been unable to upload any media since (Have checked the back-end several times and 'true' still displays [instead of 'false'])

Firefox 43.0.4 update has not changed the situation

I definitely have Windows Media installed as an add-on / plugin but, when running the Firefox suggested test of trying to run some media (as part of the Firefox suggested solution options) the media does not play

Grateful for any help please?

Hi ahw789.

You definitely do not need any extension to upload files to WordPress (where have you found this advise?). But there were recently some issues with uploading files in general, so please read suggestion from here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1102907#answer-827239 .
