URGENT! How can I get FF to look like this (screencap attached)?

I've used Firefox for several years and over many computers and OS, and have been customizing it to fit my needs. In the past, I've just swapped/replaced the old profile contents in to the new profile folder, but, since I did that today, Windows 10 has crashed 2x in 2 hrs. (This is my first time with a Windows 10 PC; it's Home Edition)

So I'm considering a clean install, but there are things that I don't know how to do.

For one, how to set it up so that the menus show up on top like on the screencap. Also, I remember turning off link prefetching, for security; doing something so that when viewing an image by itself, it doesn't zoom automatically (I need it to show in its real size, not shrunk or zoomed).

How can I replicate these changes?

This is urgent because the store I bought the computer from only gives me one week return warranty, so I need to see if this problem is Firefox-related ASAP, because if it's not, I need to return it before the return period is up.

Thanks in advance!

Hi

If you press the ALT key and select View, then Toolbars, and choose Menu Bar, the menu bar will stay displayed.

I hope this helps.

Thank you, both of you!

Alt -> View -> Toolbars -> Menu Bar solved the menu issues. :)

For the rest, I did a Refresh Firefox like that last link cor-el posted suggested, but, sadly, Firefox keeps triggering an OS crash. :( It's crashed 4x today, and it's my first day actually doing anything on the computer, since all of yesterday went towards Windows Updates. :(

Also, how can I disable link prefetching? I can't seem to find that KB article anymore.

You can open the about:config page and search for network.*prefetch prefs.

If you have submitted crash reports then please post the IDs of one or more recent crash reports that start with "bp-".

  • bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx

You can find the report ID of recent crash reports on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" page (about:support).

  • click the "All Crash Reports" button on this page to open the about:crashes page and see all crash reports.

Alternatively you can open about:crashes via the location/address bar.

1. Thank you!

2. The only crash report that starts with bp- is: bp-13bca847-d151-44e9-82b8-0fe3b2170126

Update: Windows crashes even with Firefox closed, and it happens so often, that the PC can only be faulty. So it'll be going back to the store.

Thank you so much for your help, and your links and instructions will also help me whenever I set up on a new computer.

Now I need to get rid of all my personal info Firefox may have stored, so I started a topic to that effect https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1155384 and I'll try to figure out how to close this one...

Thanks again for you help!
