Yesterday Firefox advised me to refresh. When I did my internet security was uninstalled by Firefox. How could this have happened & what can I do about it?t

My laptop was running slow, I was instructed by Firefox to 'Refresh Firefox', which I did. It took away my Panda (also my internet security) start up page. When I turned it on today I found I had no longer had My internet security. I've checked the site & it's still should be active. I will have to pay to have a Panda technician to look at it & possibly have to pay to have it reinstalled. If anyone could help with this it would be great but it shouldn't have happened.

Hi Anne, when you use the Refresh feature, any extensions that are installed into your personal profile are removed. Extensions installed by your security software usually are placed in a shared folder and just need to be re-enabled. Could you check the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then scan the right side for any disabled extensions that you may want to re-enable.

If you do not find the Panda extension there, possibly there is a setting in your Panda software to "push" the add-on over to Firefox, or maybe it requires an extra download -- I'm not personally familiar with that product.

After you refreshed your Firefox, A Folder on Desktop will have been created (Old Firefox Data). If you want your Firefox to become as it was Just Restore files to Firefox.

Thanks. I tried it but still can't find the file. Looks like I'll have to contact Panda after all. Cheers.
