since new firefox installed speed down to almost zero windows 10
downloadind a page may take one minute or 24 hours! One google search never appeared until the next day I AM NOT KIDDING! scrolling down almost always impossible. It can take 30 clicks and 10 min to read 1 page (article, email or pdf doesn't matter) basically firefox most of the time does NOT respond anymore. Playing a U tube video has become impossible (buffering frequent and sometimes for 30 minutes or more) I notice that firefox now appears in task manager as an app but also multiple copies running in "background processes" Occasionally, stopping a process manually and reloading the page fixes the problem but only on that page. It can still take 10 clicks to get an email to open and scrolling may not be possible or take minutes I checked Google chrome to see it it was working and it is working super fast! clicking on a tab to open it may take 10 attempts

hi, thanks for reporting this. could you go to the firefox menu ≡ > help ? > troubleshooting information page and take a look in the Accessibility section if accessibility is set to "true" there.
if yes, can you please copy & paste this whole section into a reply in the forum and see if the following fixes the performance problem: go to the firefox menu ≡ > options > privacy & security panel and under permissions check the setting to prevent accessibility services from accessing your browser.
accessibility is set to true.
copy: Accessibility Activated true Prevent Accessibility 0 Accessible Handler Used true Accessibility Instantiator UIAUTOMATION|
I only saw one thing i could change under permission: notifications but only 1 app is authorized. I see no change and it takes about 1 min for what I type to even appear on the screen...
Go to the Firefox 3 Bar Menu --> Options --> Privacy & Security then under Permissions check the setting to prevent Accessibility Services from accessing your browser
If above works let it run and stop there, no need to do these.
You could try this please : Go the Menu then Tools --> Options --> Performance and untick everything. change the recommended size lower then see how it runs. Note: 0 = No Multi-proccesor = slow again. Hardware Acceleration might have also been a issue so turn it off. Run it later and see as you turn things back on and test it, and again. Restart Firefox after making these changes please.
Last resort : uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles
Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0 with a Full Version Installer https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance
before I re-install I noticed error in Web G L2 driver info and wondering if this has a meaning: see copy below Web G L1 ANGLE_instanced_arrays EXT_blend_minmax EXT_color_buffer_half_float EXT_frag_depth EXT_shader_texture_lod EXT_texture_filter_anisotropic OES_element_index_uint OES_standard_derivatives OES_texture_float OES_texture_float_linear OES_texture_half_float OES_texture_half_float_linear OES_vertex_array_object WEBGL_color_buffer_float WEBGL_compressed_texture_s3tc WEBGL_debug_renderer_info WEBGL_debug_shaders WEBGL_depth_texture WEBGL_lose_context MOZ_WEBGL_lose_context MOZ_WEBGL_compressed_texture_s3tc MOZ_WEBGL_depth_texture WebGL 2 Driver WSI Info - WebGL 2 Driver Renderer WebGL creation failed:

the accessibility issue seems to have fixed the problem strange as i had only one app authorized
