Meu thunderbird apresenta travamento e falha no envio de novos emails. My thunderbird has crash and failed to send new emails.
Para emails recebidos, criei 4 pastas contendo as 3 primeiras cerca de 3.9GB, e a última tem 1.4GB For incoming emails, I created 4 folders containing the first 3 about 3.9GB, and the last one has 1.4GB

Depende de que versão do Thunderbird está usando.
Versões anteriores a 52 tem restrição quanto ao tamanho da pasta onde ficam armazenadas as mensagens enviadas.
Poderia tentar movê-las para outra pasta e ver se já te ajuda.
