I just updated to Thunderbird 60.4.0 and nothing I do will force it to send my HTML as Rich Text. They always become plain text, even in my Sent folder. I have inserted an HTML code at the top. My inserted signature file is HTML. Even when I set the signature text to HTML it only stays formatted as long as I'm writing. Once sent it reverts to plain text. I have set tools/ options/ general/ send options/ to uncheck the Send plain text if possible option and used the Send in HTML anyway option. Nothing works! How do I force this new version to do what 52.2.0 did? Or failing that, is there anyway to go back to a version of Thunderbird that could send HMTL email?

What happens if you include an image in your HTML? Does this occur in safe mode? Help menu > restart with add-ons disabled.

Even with a .jpg first in the file and/or with Thunderbird in Safe Mode. It is the same result. Perhaps another odd thing about this is that the correctly formatted email is in my Templates folder and when I double click on it and open it, it is perfect, but in the view message window it is also stripped of formating, all is either a blank-line-after "Paragraph" or a no-line-in-between "Body Text". This is to say, I have not succeeded in getting Thunderbird to display messages as they really are. I could live with that, but I know they are being sent as plain text, complete with some arbitray line-length carriage returns and the signature reduced to a all-bunched-up-in-one-line mess.

Any other ways to solve? Can I go back to before the program updated to 60.4.0?

Thanks, Marc

I'm experiencing the same: no matter what account I use or send to, TB is sending in plain text.

It does this in safe mode too and it's saving the copy of the email in the sent folder in plan text also.
