When you type in the correct search term, you won't get that "Google 404 Robot" page - if you can't figure out what that correct search term is, let me know and I will send it to you in a private message, but not on this support forum.

interesting, I did not include anything except the "number in the error message. I have used the internet since it only had a 64 baud phone modem and never got a ERROR response from GOOGLE while using FIREFOX. Seems like it told you it could not find a site but NOT GOOGLE. BUT WITHIN about 10 min AFTER I uninstalled GOOGLE BROWSER this message has popped up lots since. "Why this forum got the NAME and included in the message is beyond me. Someone asked me to search for that title as they got strange results too, and when GOOGLE when crazy, it made me wonder why it "lied" to me when Firefox found it for a MOMENT THEN GOOGLE POPPED UP ITS MESSAGE. . I hate Google ever since they seem to intercept every HOP. Seems every HOP my browser take it seems GOOGLE intercepts it and dont remember anyone making them "Emperior" of the net.

I really don't see what the problem is ....

You typed in a search request; Google may have thought they found it for a split second (hence you may have seen a glimpse of that site), but the URL clearly wasn't correct, and that's when you get the "Google 404 Robot".

About that video number : I don't want to explain it here (not as long as that number is still mentioned).

Again : if you still need to find that site I can show you how to get there in a private message.

using ONLY Firefox, no IE, NO CHROME... Nothing GOOGLE installed SEARCH IS ONLY BING or YAHOO BUT rarely use BINGs that is Microsoft.bing oy yahoo.

The "404 SHOULD HAVE been from the search engone--- BING.

I get the "yuck". But I have 55 years in computers, management, programming management, a Sun Unix Admin, operations and when I got my friends message of "strange" behavior I just had to pursue.

Still dont understand why a SEARCH for "a string of letters, WORD regardless of there meaning.. " would not be interrupted by a search engine with "did you mean? etc." I have no clue how a "number" is involved", why" IT found a URL, found a server, displayed a page.... etc.

Google read the "search string, did return a "video333333" and say "not found but did, lied about it... returned a "video3333" for that server, url...

And you say, sending a "video3333" to a search engine, it FIND AND DISPLAYS A PAGE OF CONTENT?

WEIRD.

I never seen this before.

Now am curious of what you found and saw and GOOGLE tried to "cover up"

At the top of this page, do you see a blue number on "Inbox"  ? If so : click on it .....

This is crazy. you are correct, enter" video 333333" and it finds a url, page... had no idea all that was interrupted from a "video 33333"..

I try to "learn something everyday." I did today...i never knew in the last 82 years.

I also used Firefox and BING.

This sounds kind if like "dark web" crap....

The only "Bing" I like is Chandler Bing ("Friends") and Bing Crosby .....

To make absolutely sure, you could check what you have set to be your default search engine in :

3-bar menu => Options => Search

Nothing GOOGLE installed.

Your system details show that you have two Google extensions installed   ..... (Options => Add-ons => Extensions)

But those are not search-related (Google Translate).

I am a tech novice also and tried to read through the discussion since I agree that google is a thief and a liar and it never gives me straight answers.

  To be honest, I didn't follow most of what the dialogue meant. I just want to know why every browser I use (mostly FF) is no longer supported, but google help lists my browsers as okay.  (just like it says I'm not connected to Internet when I clearly am.)
