i don't understand why Mozilla is not fixing this, but users are forced to try all sorts of workarounds, despite this problem having been reported for YEARS. WTF...fix it!!!

i refreshed firefox, that didn't work. requiring that i try to adjust all sorts of settings i don't understand just to get some basic functionality is ridiculous.
