Asking for primary/master password for all passwords every time ?
Hello, (we are using the latest FF) due to technical requirements we share the same Firefox with our children. We use the primary/master password to access all passwords but FF asks for it just once at the very begin. Once we type the primary/master password in FF never asks again what means that our children can use them as well. Is there any setting in FF that will ask for the primary/master password every time we access password protected web page ?

Hi user7777, There isn't any option for multiple users with distinct passwords. There are other options, though.
You can sign out of your Primary Password by going to Menu -> Passwords Click on any "eye" next to a password field In the prompt window, select Cancel.
Another option is to create a separate Profile for your children to use -

thanks for the suggestions. However both makes all passwords accessible by our children (I should be more specific: they are teenagers already). We don't want that.
To clarify my main point: I am not asking to have an option for multiple users with distinct passwords. I'd like FF to ask for the primary/master password every time it gets to a web page which use/password is stored in the FF. Let's say I go to Amazon and _then_ Gmail (and we have our user/pass for both stored in FF). At the moment if I wanted to login there FF will ask me for the primary/master password when accessing Amazon but will _not_ ask for it when accessing Gmail. I wanted FF to ask me for the primary/master password also when going to Gmail.
OK. I understand what it is that you're looking to do.
I found some Advanced Preferences which are supposed to afford "ask every time" but, after two hours of trying, I can't get it to work. I did some research on it and all that I can find are bug reports marked "Defect".

Are you sure you canceled the dialog and didn't re-enter the true password? Canceling that dialog or typing the wrong password should re-lock your logins.
As far as I know, that trick (or canceling the dialog shown when you click the Copy button) is the only currently available workaround in the user interface.

You can also login or logout or change the PP in the security device manager.
- Settings -> Privacy & Security
Security -> Certificates -> Security Devices
In the left panel select "Software Security Device". You can find "Log In" and "Log Out" and "Change Password" in the very right panel. You may have to Zoom out the page to make this right panel visible.
