If you are having difficulty with Thunderbird, maybe we can assist instead of uninstalling. Does the PC reboot continually? Please share more info and we'll try to assist. Thank you.
I have rebooted the laptop as suggested and turned it off at the mains to no avail! I really don't want thunderbird any more and when I try to uninstall I get the same error message ....reboot the computer. It is totally locked.Have tried doing from my settings and control panel. I am totally computer illiterate...sombebody suggested it could be a firewall (no idea what that is) I just want thunderbird gone as I cant get it off my default settings in acrobat and can't send emails with PDF attachments.
This may be an Acrobat setting, since you mention settings there. I am not familiar with Acrobat, so that may be an issue. Is Thunderbird still installed, or is it that Acrobat still has connections to it? Thank you.
I want to uninstall thunderbird from my laptop and it is totally locked...keep getting message that computer needs to reboot after update and despite turning off at the wall and rebooting it wont open. I cant uninstall in the control centre as that message keeps coming up. I just want rid of this application
Thunderbird doesn't require a reboot when being uninstalled, so my guess is that you have a connection with Acrobat, since you mentioned settings there. You can force Thunderbird off your PC by removing it manually. The program is usually at c:\program files\thunderbird or c:\program files (x86)\thunderbird, and associated files for accounts and email messages at c:\users\<yourid>\appdata\roaming\thunderbird. Removing those folders from within Windows File Explorer removes Thunderbird. But, if Acrobat has links to it, you may still see messages.
