Any way to prevent Website in background tab from stealing focus?

When browsing certain websites, if a site in a different tab has an issue, it steals focus of the one I am using to display the error message. Example; Primary Tab is focused on Facebook Secondary Tab that is in the background is on slickdeals.net The following error message dialog appears (steals focus) from slickdeals within my facebook tab. page at ads.p.veruta.com says: referenceError: json_parse is not defined

Where does this error appear? Does the Browser Console pop up in front of Facebook listing that and various other information, or is it a small message box (e.g., with the OK button)?

A error dialog message with an OK button appears. It requires multiple hits to make it go away. I have found I have to press escape 6 or more times to be the most efficient way to make it go away.

Is Adblock Plus maybe partially blocking that veruta site and causing the error?

Perhaps a way to prevent it from having a scripting error is to block the scripts from that site. You could install the YesScript extension and have it block veruta.com and see whether that resolves it.

Thanks a bunch for the response - I tried the Yessript as suggested, added veruta.com to the filter, and just went to another site I visit, thedigitalbits.com and got the same error. Am I supposed to try to wildcard the site using a ^ or a *  ?

Sorry, I'm not familiar with how to enter a site into YesScript. You might need to experiment a bit.

Thanks for sticking with me.... It appears that Yesscript requires an exact address - with that being said, if I plug in all iterations of veruta.com that come up as they occur all is fine.

I recall Windows in the past having a tweak you could set that "prevents background programs from stealing focus" - It would be fantastic if the Mozilla team could incorporate this into Firefox. Much like the same way that if you have more than one tab open on Jcpenney.com, the "zoom" product view feature does not load until you switch over to that tab.
