I have been informed that my current Firefox has been corrupted so I would like to uninstall the current Firefox and reinstall it. However, I do not want to lose me current Bookmarks. Is there a way to save my Bookmarks and have them transferred on to my new copy/version of Firefox?

hello joe7605, may i ask what's the exact wording of this error message and in which context it's appearing?

If you get a pop-up message asking to update Firefox or plugins then such a message is likely a scam and you should never respond to such an alert to avoid getting infected with malware.

  • Only update Firefox via "Help > About" or by downloading and installing Firefox from the Mozilla server and never via a pop-up or link on a web page.
  • Plugins should only be updated via the plugin itself or by visiting the home page of the plugin.

There are other things that need your attention.

Your System Details List shows multiple Flash plugins.

  1. Shockwave Flash 13.0 r0
  2. Shockwave Flash 12.0 r0

You can find the installation path of all plugins on the about:plugins page.

You can check the Flash player installation folder for multiple Flash player plugins and remove older version(s) of the plugin (NPSWF32) and possibly (re)install the latest Flash player.

This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies."

thanks for providing more details - reinstalling won't help in this case - please perform all the steps mentioned at Websites say cookies are blocked - Unblock them, which contains the most common solutions for this issue.

i did this and a few other steps as recommended from another member and still no luck. this only occurs on one specific website as other websites are accessible, at least from what i can see. (i am not an IT expert.) in addition, i downloaded chrome and attempted to access the website and resulted with the same inaccessible message. so it must be something in my computer? right? but i have ran the full malware program and the full antivirus program several times and nothing was found.

Update: No luck in accessing my credit card site using either Microsoft Internet Explorer, Google's Chrome and Mozilla Firefox with all the above mentioned steps (allowing cookies and/or defaulting the cookie option to the "recommended" option) on my laptop.
