Can't change printers, reset failed.

more options

Firefox will not allow me to change my printer. When I try to select a different printer from the dropdown menu, the menu closes and I am still on the printer I was on before. By using troubleshooting, I folllowed instructions to reset the printer. It failed. I reset the default printer to another printer via Windows 7 settings. It failed. I used followed Firefox instructions to reset Firefox (and lost my add-ons, thank you very much) and it failed. How do I get that printer selection menu working again? For now, I am having to use another browser anytime I want to use an alternate printer. Not good.
