Annoying Search Assist ads keep popping up. There is nothing in the add/remove programs that come from an unidentifiable company. I've tried resetting firefox more than once. Firefox has been uninstalled, and re-installed to no avail.

This might be related. When going to different sites the "This Connection is Untrusted" keeps popping up. This even happens when going to the Mozilla site looking for help. I like using Firefox, but right now it is unusable. Tell me what to do to fix this.

Thanks

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

This Connection is Untrusted is sometimes caused because the computer system clock is wrong. Check the time / date / time zone settings.
