When I delete emails, they reappear twice! Very frustrating!

After deleting emails, they came back as a new email when restarting email. Not only that they came back again the next two times I restarted. I now have three copies and 400+ new emails after trying clean up my inbox.

If emails are 'reappearing' and not redownloading:

This sounds like the folder may be corrupted.

Move all good emails out of Inbox and into suitably named folders. Delete any unwanted emails.

When Inbox is empty: right click on Inbox folder and select 'compact'.

then right click on 'Deleted' folder and select 'Empty Deleted' then right click on 'Deleted' folder and and select 'compact'.

Please read info on compacting:

If you don't compact your folders regularly, performance can slow to a crawl, you can't store new messages anymore, start losing parts of messages or have deleted messages resurrected.
