THERE APPEARS TIO BE COMPLICATED SCENARIOS SUGGESTED FOR THE SPELL CHECK NOT WORKING ON CERTAIN WEBSITES AND FORUMS. SURELY THE POINT IS THAT FIREFOX SPELL CHECK USED TO WORK ON EVERYTHING SO, WHY HAVE IS BEEN RUINED BY MOZILLA? I CAN'T BE THE ONLY PERSON THAT DOES NOT WANT TO TINKER ABOUT ENDLESSLY WASTING LOTS OF TIME TO GET SOMETHING THAT WAS NEVER A PROBLEM TO FUNCTION. WHY DON'T MOZILLA PUT THE BROWSER BACK TO A PROPERLY FUNCTIONING STATE?

Moses berated me for posting my question twice but if Mozilla cannot be bothered to have a delete function for one's own question that is a tad unfair. I'm sorry that this oversight by Mozilla has caused a problem. I have now spent a lot of time sussing out how to resolve the issue that I had and managed to download a British English dictionary and Language pack into Firefox 30 and that appears to have sorted it. I hope that everybody has a great day. :)

Only the en-US and maybe a couple other locales like fr comes with a dictionary due to licensing reasons.
