Any way to recover lost tabs if they are Not in sessionstore .js or .bak?
I lost all my previously opened Firefox windows and tabs. I checked the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak but the websites I had opened are Not listed in these files. Please tell is there any way remaining to restore the windows and tabs?
Firefox 30.0 , Linux Mint , ext4 file system.

Sir/Ma'am Question was not clear, however Follow these general instructions.
OPTIONS>>GENERAL>>WHEN FIREFOX STARTS/HOME PAGE
If open tabs from the previous session aren't in the sessionstore file then your only option would be trying to recover them from the history or the cache.
I suppose the next place to go is your History.
The Session Manager extension will keep you from suffering loss to this degree in the future. You can configure the intervals at which it saves another version of your FF windows. Normally these days if Firefox crashes or has a bad closing Session Manager will come back for me with the most recent configuration of tabs as its latest entry. However earlier this year I went through a period when it was not doing that.
Thanks a lot.
Many tabs were many months old. History and cache will contain information about the tabs (websites) which I had opened but will have no knowledge about which tabs were closed. I mean, history and cache will contain everything and now there's no way to filter and show only those websites which I had kept opened in my tabs, right?
Because of this I've only been able to recover tabs which I remember that I was working on. For recovering months old tabs which I had forgotten, I will have to go through my months old history; and search feature will be of no use since I don't remember what I had kept opened. There's no better way to do this, right?
Firefox has been very reliable for me (that's why it's my primary browser) but I lost the tabs because of my mistake. Okay I've installed "Session Manager", thanks for the information.
I understand you well, homedrek. I develop an emotional attachment to my tabs and I absolutely hate losing them. I don't want to close them out till I have extracted all I want from them. I spend part of my time on Maxthon because I'm on an old single core processor 2 GB RAM XP computer, and Maxthon's light weight draws me back. Last night I had a Maxthon crash that killed all my tabs, and I'm sick about it. There is no Session Manager for Maxthon. I hope the History didn't get killed too, as sometimes happens.
A better computer will be mine sometime soon.
go to C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\somerandomnumber
rightclick on sessionstore.js
properties
previous versions
restore the version before you crashed
I just lost my open tabs -- more than 200 -- after I upgraded FF to v35.0.1. This article helped me recover them. RyanAndrew, your solution didn't work for me because I don't have versioning enabled. However, FF makes a backup of sessionrestore.js whenever it updates to a new version, so in my case I was able to recover from that backup.
I wrote a detailed discussion in the support article https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1043538 . RyanAndrew, I wouldn't have figured this out without your post here. Thank you enormously.

Glad to hear that AmateurHistorian! now i'm wondering what the 200+ tabs are :) clip them to evernote, it will be like having them in your pocket
The 200 tabs is what's left after I went through all my tabs and closed the other 100 I was done with. :o) Yes, it's nuts, FF at times takes up 2GB of RAM. But hey, my desk is even messier.
I've heard of Evernote but never used it. I will check it out. Thank you again, sir.
