I already have an email account for sk.ward@bigpond.com on my old laptop. I have installed Thunderbird on my new ASUS Windows8 laptop but cannot access the account as the program keeps telling me my password is incorrect. I have asked for a new password but received no reply. Hope you can help.

Thank you.

If bigpond is your ISP, then Can you logon to see your webmail account using a browser? If yes, then you know the password is good. If no logon, they know you cannot access your webmail account, so they will not be sending an email. You should be able to click on the 'forgotten password' link. https://signon.bigpond.com/login?site=chw&goto=http%3A%2F%2Fmessaging.bigpond.com%2F

you would be asked for your User Name and date of birth. You should be able to gain access after answering questions and resetting password.

However, please make sure your Server Settings are correct, because even if the User name and password are correct, they may not be correct for the server settings you are trying to use.

Also, you do not mention whether you are configuring a Pop or an IMAP mail account. So, make sure the type of mail account is the one you require.
