Firefox Startup Delays for non-Admin User For a non-admin user it takes about 16 seconds before you can type anything into the Mozilla Firefox Start Page (actually you can type stuff in at about 10 seconds but it gets blanked out). For an admin user you can type in stuff at about 6 seconds. Why the delay for non-admin's? Thanks

This is a fresh install of win/xp on a Pentium III 1.2 GHz Evo N410c I believe I installed Firefox as the administrator (but not sure) Addons (both users): Roboform, Adblock Plus, Roomy Toolbars Firefox 34.0.5

Sorry, not the sort of question likely to get a proper solution. I think everyone is reluctant to make a stab at providing any sort of answer.

Far too many variable involved, and only a few seconds difference. I could suggest a few things that may shed some light on the issue but you wont necessarily get to the bottom of this.

Turn on Firefox Health Report (fhr)

That will enable you to get some hard facts. There are some experiments you could try to compare startup times, and try to figure out some of the factors causing the difference.

Its also a good idea to turn on telemetry so engineers can collect anonymised data on Firefox performance.
