When you select to add email address to address book by clicking on the email address in the header, it auto adds the email address to the default 'Personal Address Book'. This addon extension offers you more choice, so that you can choose which address book to use. This may help you to avoid adding email addresses/contacts to the wrong address book, so that you can avoid the need to delete.
You can also choose the address book where outgoing email addresses are auto added/collected. By default this is the 'Collected Addresses' address book. 'Tools' > 'Options' > 'Composition' > 'Addressing' tab Select: 'Automatically add outgoing email addresses to my: choose address book. or uncheck thar option if not required. click on OK
The Addon doesnot work with Thunderbird 2.0.0.16 linux / ubuntu platform kindly help , the "address auto complete " option is not displayed in tool bar
re: Thunderbird 2.0.0.16 You are running a very ancient version of Thunderbird. Have you considered updating so that it includes all the latest functionality and security updates? current version is 31.6.0
