about:addons isn't even a real website adress. Why the hell does Firefox block addons from its own built-in site? Why isn't it whitelisted by default? Will whitelisting an "about:" address even work?

hi Erundil, this is a known - temporary - issue resulting from a security bug fix in firefox 40.0.3. the functionality will be restored in firefox 41, until then please install addons directly from https://addons.mozilla.org/
