since update thunderbird 38.6.0 problems with starting thunderbird. thunderbird start with left upper startingpage mail enters but cannot read old and new mail.

2 temporary possibilities to read mail: 1. open at taskbar thunderbird new mail; after that opening thunderbird and everything functions or 2. open post IN through new TAB, and I can read mail

reinstalling 38.6.0 is not the answer for this problem.

Who can help me?

Chosen solution

Remove Lighting and add it again and it will continue to work fine. Unfortunately the inclusion of Lighting as part of Thunderbird has seen a few issues. They affect only a very few people out of the total user base, but they are annoying for those affected.
